PSG Transfer Review

Jean Philipe Dindane has made some interesting and exiting buys for PSG in the close window and here we review the areas needed to improve and if he has successfully done it.

In every team you need competition in every position with around 3 players fighting for that famed place in the PSG starting eleven and Sirgu had no real challenge in goal so a deputy was needed to challenge the 24 year old with only a 32 and 35 year olds last season in Douchez and Le Crom being the other senior keepers. Dindane released Le Crom who didn’t make a single appearance with the capital club indicating a move for another goal keeper was imminent, first Dindane had a £19 Million for Iker Casillas rejected by Real Madrid who were holding out for a staggering £49M causing JP to target a younger less known keeper in Bernd Leno who arrived from Leverkusen for a rather small fee of 5.75M when Bild were quoting closer to 16 Million Euros. Leno and Sirgu are both young and will fight it out for the number one spot.

The defence of last year was still very impressive and was bolstered with the signing of Thiago Silva but a left back and after Jallet leaving another right back was needed. Van Der Wiel is a very accomplished right back in the Dutch leagues and has been joined by Finnish young gun Raitala from SC Herreveen for in the region of 4.9 Million. Centre back will not be a problem with Sahko , Silva , Alex and Armand which saw Camara now in his thirties shipped off to Bordeaux for a measly 600K While at left back Luke Shaw was bought for 4.1 Million and Jallet to offer competition for the ageing Maxwell.

In midfield PSG looked very strong with three string athletic powerful left attacking midfielders in Lucas Tiene and Pastore , Lucas been the first choice last season. In the centre Dindane made a very risky buy splashing 15M on unknown Sociedad Academy youngster Ruben Pardo who has been linked to the success of Spanish football for the next generation whoever with Bodmer Becks Verratti Motta and Matuidi all competing for two spots in the team Ruben will find it very hard to fit in at PSG and already Marca have called it the worst buy of the summer season. On the right side of midfield Menez was the only recognised attacking player so JP brought in promising youngster Raheem Sterling on a seasons long loan from Liverpool.

With Ibrahimovic , Lavezzi and Ongenda all above Gamiero the French international was shipped to Lille for 6M to gain playing time ahead of the World Cup and in his place came Caballero from Porto for 725K who is set for stardom in South American football and has been called the next Forlan.
